A new wave of abstraction is reshaping software engineering.
Each pushed machine code closer to humans or made software easy to build: Assembly → C C → Python/Ruby Manual memory mgmt → GC Bare metal → VMs → Containers → Kubernetes jQuery → React/Next.js PHP+HTML → Web Frameworks like Rails/Django/Express On-prem infra → AWS → Serverless And now, we’re seeing AI builders on top of the app layer. Personally, I started with ChatGPT as “Google++”, then Claude Code → OpenAI Codex → and now I’m again trying Claude Sonnet 4.5. Not sure where this abstraction wave ends. Feels like we’re heading to a point where software writes itself - no humans needed. and this is the future they’re pushing toward https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGiqrsv530Y |
