Do people actually find IKEA explanations helpful?

I always thought they were a cost-cutting measure to avoid text in different languages. For me, they tend to be incomprehensible. Maybe because I have a very verbal style of learning, but I think it's not only that because I do find Lego instructions easy.

This captured the IKEA experience perfectly in the sense that I can understand it because I already know Quicksort, but otherwise, I don't think I would figure it out.

Funny. I have always found their instructions great. I am quite visual.
IKEA instructions are kinda like a worse version of Lego instructions. But in general I could not imagine assembling a 3d shape without pictures/drawings. Using text instructions for 3d shapes sounds like a nightmare.
Not saying 100% pure text instructions without images would make sense, but for me, some text alongside the drawings would help immensely.
