I think it’s mostly people around the JS/Go/Rust ecosystems that tend to be vocal about GitHub being a community. For a lot of projects I couldn’t care less if it was just cgit or gitea. It’s quite easy to setup git to send patch via email. And you can always use a pastebin to host the diff if you’re sharing ideas. Bit I guess that’s not as visible as the GitHub dashboard. |
