It’s completely revitalized the group text I have with my siblings: seemingly every week, there are novel and extremely stupid uses of LLMs for us to discuss. For instance, earlier this month my sister spent hours posting entertaining excerpts from the Reddit forum where people discuss their AI “girlfriends/boyfriends,” which were some of the funniest things I’ve read in recent memory. Overall, it’s been a great topic that we can set aside our differences and bond over.

As to whether it’s worth the cost, societally probably not, but there’s not much I can personally do about that so I try not to think about it too much.
