Most BE will know one of either Java or .Net or Python. As that is what most corporates use.

Corporates will be that way. YC applicants are asking for $500k to build faster than a team of the smartest people in the world funded over millions per year. If you want to say you're in the top 3% of applicants, it's one input form to showcase that.
