It used to be common to say you're taking a "mental health day", which was a recognition that while maybe you were not physically ill (or were, just not in a way anyone else had to worry about or to an extent that you couldn't make it to the office), you were not in a state to contribute meaningfully to the work being done. Which is fine. And better than the people who show up no matter what and drag others down by being miserable and making mistakes. |
