Given that it's Blender, I was expecting it to be about 6DoF controllers.

I think they already work in blender

(there even is https://www.printables.com/model/908684-spacemouse-mini-slim... - which I know works in freecad)

Blender already has "NDOF" settings for use with space mouse and similar tools. I'm no Blender expert, but those are indispensable as a user coming from a CAD background.
