The article makes a strong case for eliminating handoff altogether, but how do we realistically bridge that gap in most teams today, especially with so much legacy tooling and siloed orgs? Agencies often have to deliver so quickly and to such tight budgets. How do we realistically take the time to invest in up-skilling our entire org on such a new concept in this industry? And how do we know it will be worth it?

It is definitely going to be a challenge for some designers I am not going to lie.

But at least in the case of Nordcraft you can start small. Have the designer only focus on the visual styling while learning the platform. Then as they get more comfortable they can tackle more complex tasks.

A lot of designers are already very capable when it comes to HTML and CSS so they are not going to see a big learning curve

This actually sounds very promising. Do you have any case studies or opinions from designers who have moved to using a tool like Nordcraft?
