I literally had that happen to me at an annual review. I got a great review and asked for more money than the raise my boss offered. He had no authorization to go that high, but because I asked for more and having had a good review gave me a strong position, he went to the VP and got approval for it. It's just business: you're selling a skill. Try to get a good price for it. |
