Does anyone else think the answer to all of this is pay per use*? Every time a developer queries the OpenAI API, they pay $x cents for the tokens. Why can't the AI companies and news companies create a framework that works the same way for news? If the user needs something, they go through the AI company to read it, and the AI company pays $x cents to the publisher. Why wouldn't this work? (Genuinely asking, I'm sure I'm missing something).
