Agreed. To me, it’s like the difference between semi-automatic weapons and automatic weapons. Yes, it’s easier to not have to wiggle your finger on the trigger, but semi-auto is more than enough to be very effective. It’s very easy to create deceptive imagery persuasion and to astroturf. With or without AI assistance. All you need is a modest amount of money. And with unlimited money and zero accountability thanks to the ‘responsibility laundering’ made possible through PACs… facts no longer matter. Just money, to buy virality, to influence vibes. |
