How do you know an idea is disruptive? Do you validate or test your hypotheses? What do you do with them?

Why do you care if an idea is disruptive? If it's to launch startups, you're asking the wrong question - just needs to be something that people want to use / pay money for; doesn't matter if it's a copy of something else.
