Except there is provable malice on both sides. The power edifice is now too strong to be responsibly wielded by who we seem capable of mustering to wield it. In short, it is no longer the case that Lincoln's admonishment of "no man can do much damage in 4 years" is the case. Arguably it wasn't even back then... but now...here we are. You are absolutely right more compassion and willingness to compromise is needed though. |
