Seems like there was a previous version of the engine that was written in Haxe [0]

Also, that old version used to be open source, but I think this new one isn't anymore. Old thread mentioned by @pvg still mentions being open source, but right now the repositories only have docs.[1]

Sounds like they might be switching to a source-available model rather than an open-source model.
Armory maybe?
Luxe was initially written in Haxe and they migrated to C++ eventually.

Armory did, and it does still look like it's using Haxe - https://github.com/armory3d/armory/wiki/setup - it bundles it in.
