Working for my own companies 15 years now, I can say I enjoy it as I have long stretches of being able to mostly work on technical things and projects I enjoy. However, this lifestyle takes becoming comfortable with a level of uncertainty that is highly stressful for most people. Sometimes, I have 1-2 years of runway, more times than I can count it’s been 1-2 months. However my family and employees rarely knows which case it is, and that’s a hard skill to master, but necessary for the people that depend on me to be happy and productive. |
