I don't like how the headline reads almost as "Claude will now spy for the US". I think it's a good thing that the government employees will be able to use LLMs (e.g. to improve language understanding) and feed it to software that is compliant with FedRamp/DoD IL. I can only imagine that there is more work to do than there is manpower and LLMs open up more opportunities to improve efficiency. Press release from Anthropic on the matter:
