This works for me too. Let’s say I run into someone I met once a couple months ago. Maybe I recognized them, but I might not remember their name, and certainly don’t remember what we talked about. As soon as I can get details about where in the city the venue was, or where we were sitting in the room, then it all comes back. I don’t have aphantasia, just a sometimes frustratingly inadequate memory. |

It's why if you forget something you were thinking or going to do, go back to where you were and do the thing that lead to that thought and often it will come back to you.
Aphantasia I think is different, because this type of thing you describe happens for all types of recall not just visual imagery.
