For me the problem with GenAI is that it erodes away what I enjoy in my job and in my free time.
I enjoy learning and eventually understanding methods to solve problems. I enjoy applying these methods in my mind, before trying them on the computer.
I am not interested in getting the solutions to problems served to me without understanding why it works.
I feel, yes it is an emotion, that GenAI is unhealthy for the progress of mankind, since it encourages a lazy mind, stifles curiosity and will lead to inbred information filling our digital spaces. I am looking forward to my future career as a gardener (although with a smidge of sadness) when AI has sucked out all creativity, ingeniuity and enjoyment from my field of work. |
