As years go by, some prefer more friction in their tools: no syntax highlighting, missing drivers, and inconvenient setups. They hope the upside is increased focus, less abstraction, and a return to basics: first principles, bare-metal contrivance, and cheap hardware. Sometimes the friction is so high, nothing but living gets done. Time passes quickly, and time to first keypress is measured in days. |
