As a Free software supporter, its just a matter of time before we lose out on our freedoms. Honestly, once Linus retires I do think Linux will continue to thrive with a good team but Linux, the kernel, will either have to adapt to current times (whatever that can be in the future) or something else will replace it and, likely, some AI aspect on top. It wont be free software and, likely, it will be Microsoft. |
