Also just picking constants for encryption algorithms that are supposed to be "nothing up my sleeve" numbers, like the n first digits of pi. DJB had a good talk about how many degrees of freedom you can still get picking such numbers and how much you can weaken crypto algorithms (even though not outright breaking them), but I can't find it at the moment |
