> only for absolutely unrecoverable errors Unfortunately even the Rust core language doesn't treat them this way. I think it's arguably the single biggest design mistake in the Rust language. It prevents a ton of useful stuff like temporarily moving out of mutable references. They've done a shockingly good job with the language overall, but this is definitely a wart. |
