Reading the comments/reviews on Amazon, and I was wondering what peoples take on this book is for non-coders?

I'm purely editorial/product (not project) management - but this looks like it could give me a rounded understanding of best practice.

Those who have read it, would you recommend to someone of my background?

Yes. I loved this book, but didn't really get much out of it except affirmation of my own beliefs. I think it would be much more valuable for a new programmer, or a non-programmer who works with programmers, than for an experienced programmer.
