I think this is a good idea. It keeps the troops motivated (especially 20-something men).

Now, if Russia was doing this? There would be protests in the streets. It's amazing the kind of behavior people will accept when it comes to people they support/like.

Russia has been doing a long time, with direct money bonuses for destruction of vehicles. Ukraine gives "points" bonuses to units, which are used for paying for new equipment.

So no protests in the streets.
