Except that your example is not reflective of the situation.

The right example should be: you are enjoying surfing, then a shark arrives and constantly try to eat you.

Now you either keep surfing, at the risk of being eaten or simply hurt by the shark, or you just take your board and go back home.

Either way, your surfing session is ruined.
