There is lot of hype on the Model context protocol (MCP). I see it as a tool for agent discovery and runtime integration, rather than a replacement of APIs, which developers use at build time. Think of MCP like an App, which can be listed on an MCP store and a user can "install" it for their client. APIs still remain the fundamental primitive on which Apps/Agents will be built. |
