We have everything we need. Physical needs are met. We are advancing technologically to unprecedented heights. Yet we are only becoming addicted and craving more dopamine, and more anxious than ever. What does it tell us about the human brain? |

That said, it is quite possible to be content with what you have and actually experience joy and fulfillment, you don't even need all the modern luxuries and even your basic needs to be met for that. But disease, pain, discomfort and an endless class of issues that stem from the "other people" category are a forever reality.
In my experience, if you can figure out how to get along with your own self, lead a life you yourself approve of and be content with your situation, suffering becomes something you experience once in a long while as you adapt to new situations, not a perpetually endured reality.
