In early 2000s I was researching VCSs for work and also helping a little developing arch, bazaar then (less so) bzr. I trialed Bitkeeper for work. We went with Subversion eventually. I think I tried Monotone but it was glacially slow. I looked at Mercurial. It didn't click. When I first used Git I thought YES! This is it. This is the one. The model was so compelling, the speed phenomenal. I never again used anything else unless forced -- typically Subversion, mostly for inertia reasons. |
