I just came across a video of a 21-year old dev who built an AI tool to pass leetcode questions.

This guy is so good at problem solving, he solved the entire coding interview problem and honestly, if you could build something like that, a company should just hire you straight up without any questions.

I personally hate some of these coding interviews because if I built a SAAS that's makes 2mil annual revenue and I apply to work for a FAANG company. I will probably be asked if I can reverse a linked list or sort a list and if I am not able to, it means that I am not good enough.

What I am saying is that, the experience of me building a product being used by many people is ignored and until I prove that I can sort a list or reverse a linked list, I am not good enough which I personally think is bad.

I would never endorse cheating in an interview.... but these companies all missed an opportunity to hire someone who seems absolutely brilliant. Would I want to hire someone who just cheated on my interviews in a boring old school way? No. Would I want to hire someone who built an AI tool that allowed them to flawlessly cheat in my interviews and circumvent the anti-cheating measures we thought we had? Absolutely.

Before my first interview, I solved around 1000 problems on LeetCode. After five years of working as a developer, I never — never — had to use that knowledge. So now, I barely remember any of that stuff.
