I've been drowning in:

1,400+ browser bookmarks

300+ unorganized Notion pages

Countless PDFs named "important_read.pdf"

The breaking point came when I spent 45 minutes searching for a research paper I knew I'd saved, only to find it later in a downloads folder mixed with memes.

Current solutions fail because:

Folders/tags require perfect discipline

Search only works if you remember exact keywords

No connections between related content (like that YouTube video that perfectly explains a concept in your PDF)

I eventually built a simple system for myself that:

Lets me dump anything without organizing

Finds things through natural questions ("What were the key points about X?")

Shows connections between notes/videos/articles

It's been working surprisingly well for my personal use. If this pain sounds familiar, I'm happy to share the technical approach (it's just a local Python script).
