I'm sorry but IBM has moved out of (Software) products and currently only does IT services. Its revenue (from Software) is completely tied to $/hour that it can earn from its contracts. Arvind Krishna is simply trying to talk his business up. My take: the truth will lie somewhere in between, with the balance moving into the AI corner with time. Also, the real truth will emerge from IBM's financials. The growth (or decline) of their revenue from Software Contracts will speak for itself over the next few years. Also, from what I'm seeing in the Industry, the number of Software hires have begun to decline with more engineers being let go. |
