As far as I can see that's because of gas prices - https://ember-energy.org/latest-insights/fossil-gas-uk-elect... The idea of 'net zero is making energy expensive' is a common but inaccurate catch-cry (I could even go as far as saying 'conspiracy theory' but maybe that's uncharitable), but it is a very convenient one for the oil & gas industry... |
