If being accpeted as a student is fully merit based,
the pool of outstanding students in the 80% pool
should be more than large enough to consume
all available spots.
43% of Harvard students are legacies. I am fairly confident that a lot less than 80% of Harvard legacy admissions have less than $200,000 family income.
