As a (probably horrible) manager I leave the 1:1 context to the report. Some people Im going over technical things, some people are gripe-ing over external depts, some people we just grab a beer and chat. I try to push the conversation towards business growth topics but not very hard. So to answer the question I think frame the meeting to your own goals. Genuinely curious about how not great my process is |
