It's 20% various scams, 70% speculation/ponzi, 10% cult-like obsession/people deriving their identity from it, and 100% energy-wasting tech. As for having staying power, all kinds of scams have nonetheless enjoyed staying power (gambling, MLMs, scientology, major political parties). |
