The app is a Twitter clone (The name is literally a pun on Twitter) and this type of writing has been an ongoing meme for a few years.

I’d say it’s more of an example of jumping on a trend at a good time.

Seems like the developer just made it as a lark. It has some of the old "do dumb stuff for fun" spirit of the old Internet.
