I’d highly recommend looking up “Situational leadership” if you’re worried about coming off as micro-managing. You need to adapt how you’re mentoring based on the mentees skill and confidence.
That makes sense. In this situation it was a bit tricky as I didn't actually know the developer at all (different team), but I should have picked up on it.
