Why the 2020 unemployment insurance checks were an additional $600 a week, rather than say, “We're going to replace 80% of your income”? > how their COBOL systems made updating them very technically complex…It was just too technically complicated in the time available to program 80% or replacement rates. And so they just slapped on adding $600 a week to everyone's check because that was technically easier. |
