They have to be, really, lest their house of cards come crashing down on them. Sam thought they were safe, that they had enough of a moat, but when a bunch of (really great) chinese quant engineers beat them with minimal resources, suddenly the fight was on again. I am a huge fan of everything coming out of China and Europe lately. OpenAI needed competitors, this forces them to actually deliver graspable bussiness benefits, not just smoke and mirrors. |
