You've had some pretty shitty tech jobs if you've had to provide a status update jsutifying why you should keep your job, every day for the last 20 years.

To your points:

  - that's a Scrum smell
  - it's probably wasting time
  - Not the best way to go about it!
  - Oh, the "smell" part means that it's an issue
