Nice write-up - it's given me some options to look at for Canada-specific hosting. Are there other options you considered but didn't include in your review? I haven't heard of these providers before outside of the Linode, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, etc options that usually get recommended.

Over on lobste.rs somebody mentioned this one which looks great.

There's also OVH which is French-owned (I think) but has some Canadian datacentres.
