There's a special category for showing one's own work on HN, take a look at https://news.ycombinator.com/showhn.html

You don't have to use the format but it puts the post in more places, lets you add more of your own description, tells people you're around to discuss your work, etc. Show HNs tend to do better in terms of discussion than links to tweets.
