I assume that this is the result of a few quirks here in the US - Lots of things came online in the US before ccTLDs were common, and are still rare for US based orgs - US states have quite a bit of freedom in how they communicate with their citizens. - US states vary greatly in services provided and population (from ~600,000 up to ~40M) |
