And this doesn't even scratch copyleft. Getting credit is nice and all but i publish my stuff under AGPL because i want my users to have the right to modify the software, even if somebody else builds on top of my work. LLMs are being used to launder my code right now and take away my users' right. There were cases where LLMs regurgitated functions verbatim, which caused a bit of uproar on Twitter and that's it. There should be massive lawsuits that take illegally trained LLMs deep into unprofitability. But i guess the west is competing with China now and morality or even legally goes out the widow in a war. |
