If you read the mathematical theory of causality (e.g. Pearl), you'll learn that you must have the ability to make interventions "from outside" (at least in theory) before you can talk about causality. You have to define what is "inside" the system you study. If you define everything to be "inside", then causality disappears because intervention disappears. |
