That holds for shopping and recreational areas. In residential areas it does not work so well. The backbone of society is provided by moderately paid people: Health workers, construction workers, police officers, factory workers. We must enable these people to get to work. The solution so far was: enable them to own a car. We can choose to let the market handle that: people probably will negotiate for higher salaries if cost of living goes up, higher salaries will drive prices and the spiral continues. |
