And my guess is there's a touch of ideology to this person that questioning Tesla and FSD's fundamental safety would hurt. "I screwed up" does a lot less to cause cognitive dissonance than "Something I believe is wrong" There's a lot of possible flavors to that ideology, it COULD be right wing political affinity, but it also could be a belief that technology is superior to human judgement, or that self driving cars are the future, or it could just be that spending 6 figures on an ugly pickup wasn't a waste of money. |
