It's disappointing that Steam doesn't have a free publishing option for open source apps. The $100 publishing fee can be enough to relegate a game to GitHub rather than Steam, and I'd much rather install from Steam than figure out how to use an AppImage or whatever got posted to a GitHub Releases page. There's enough weird anime porn garbage on Steam that I think they can handle a few hundred/thousand open source games of varying quality. |
