Lignin is a notorious unwanted substance (from making paper for instance) that you could make a fortune of if you could make something wanted out of it. People have tried so many bad ideas to be rid of it, such as GMO trees that don't contain lignin -- doesn't work because they get shredded mercilessly by bugs. |
