candidly, you need an unfair advantage - YC network, preexisting network of high net worth individuals, status/prestige/brand from high visibility past work, something. High status angels (such as exited founders) were the best source of intros to VCs for me but those relationships take several years to develop if you don’t have them already. And you need to already have results, or something that gives them conviction. My first few angels were people I was acquainted with for a few years before our early results impressed them and they asked to invest unprompted. |
